I recently came across a trending idea called The Sacred Window Theory… The season where kids are little, parents are still here, everyone’s healthy, the house is loud, and life feels achingly precious.
And yes… that season is real. And meaningful.
But I kept thinking about the people it leaves out.
Those who lost parents too early.
Those who never had families that felt safe.
Those moving through grief, illness, or major change… All while still trying to build a life worth remembering.
There isn’t one perfect window.
Life is layers of love and loss, joy and ache, often all at once.
What feels true to me is this:
There isn’t one sacred season.
Every season holds something worthy.
As the year begins, here are two simple ways to honor whatever season you’re in:
- Name what’s actually here.
Not what should be here. Not what you hoped for. Just what’s real right now.
What are you grateful for? - Choose one way to be more present inside it.
One boundary. One slower morning. One honest conversation.
One thing you protect.
No reinvention, pressure, or optimization required.
Just embracing and appreciating what is.
With love,
Marissa
