A standing desk is a great alternative to sitting in a chair all day, but they can come with a hefty price tag. Hootsuite CEO Ryan Holmes has come up with an inexpensive option and compact solution.

Oristand is a piece of cardboard that easily unfolds into a standing desk that can sit atop of any flat surface, like counters, dining tables and desks. Weighing in a two pounds, Oristand is strong enough to hold your laptop, and has enough of a work surface to fit a mouse and even a compact keyboard.

Sure, the durability is questionable -- you probably want to keep your cup of coffee far away from this folding standing desk. But it's environmentally-friendly and inexpensive enough to make it a viable option for the masses.
