stressed worker

The countless emails, the traveling and time away from your loved ones, the pointless meetings -- let's face it, we all have things in our lives that cause stress. But are we really as stressed out as we think we are?

A recent article by Fast Company presents data that shows control is the purveyor of stress. Stress is really the stress response, and if you feel that you are in control of what is happening to you, your stress levels are likely to be lower. Not to say that one has to be completely in control of everything, because we all know that would be impossible. But if you can control certain outcomes of your life, you can absolutely lower your stress levels.

Lowering stress leads to more efficient work time. But more importantly, lowering stress keeps you healthy.
